About the Game

The Immortal is an isometric action-adventure RPG on the NES where an elderly wizard must descend through a labyrinth to rescue his mentor Mordamir. Gameplay involves collecting gold, solving puzzles, buying items from a merchant, using magic spells and sword combat, with a flying magic carpet and barrel-paddling mechanics in some levels. Story follows the wizard's visions of ancient dragons, the city of Erinoch, and a betrayal by Mordamir. Characters include the player wizard, mentor Mordamir, bodyguard Ulindor, and merchant. What makes it stand out is its dark, brutal dungeon-crawler difficulty, non-linear exploration of 7-8 levels, high graphic violence, and deep fantasy lore with dream sequences.
