Rainbow Islands - The Story of Bubble Bobble 2

Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 is a side-scrolling platformer where players control Bubby or Bobby, the human forms of Bub and Bob from the original Bubble Bobble. The story follows the brothers' quest to defeat the evil Dark Shadow and rescue the inhabitants of the Rainbow Islands, who have been turned into Bubble Dragons. Gameplay features shooting rainbows as weapons, platforms, and item collectors to defeat enemies and collect diamonds; players must reach the top of each island before the rising sea level drowns them. There are 10 themed islands with 4 levels per island and bosses, plus power-ups for speed and rainbow production. It stands out with its unique rainbow mechanics unlike bubble-popping in the predecessor, multiple endings based on diamond collection, and vibrant levels.
