About the Game
Rocky is a boxing sports game for Sega Master System released in 1987. The player controls Rocky Balboa in a series of 15-round fights against major movie antagonists. Training mode involves button-mashing sandbag combos to build speed and power. The game features controls for straight punches, hooks, uppercuts, body shots, and directional aiming combos. Opponents include Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and Ivan Drago. It stands out for being one of the earliest licensed Rocky video game adaptations with authentic fight choreography and two-player versus mode where Player 1 is always Rocky. Stamina management and round-based combat make it a classic 8-bit sports title.
