About the Game
1939 September 1, Friday. This NES/Famicom game is a bootleg port of the PC strategy title Commandos. Players command a small squad of British commandos in WWII missions: stealth, sabotage, rescues, and assassinations behind enemy lines. Characters include the Green Beret commander, engineer, sniper, and others with unique skills like climbing walls, swimming, and lockpicking. Standout mechanics involve real-time unit control, resource gathering from the environment, and map-based objectives; it stands out as one of the earliest real-time tactics games on the platform despite low production values.
