About the Game

Wild Gunman is a light gun shooter where players use the NES Zapper (or accessory revolver) to duel outlaws in a Wild West saloon. In Game A (1 Outlaw), you face one opponent who yells 'Fire!!' and must shoot precisely when their eyes flash for a quick win. Game B (2 Outlaws) adds pressure with two opponents yelling at different times, requiring accurate dual shots. Game C (Gang) involves popping out of five saloon windows with limited bullets to defeat ten outlaws, replenishing ammo after every ten kills. No character names exist, but cowboys include a black cowboy whose hat flies off, a vest-wearing cowboy who falls backward, a sombrero thief who also falls backward, a tall thin cowboy with pants slipping down, and a typical cowboy. Gameplay emphasizes speed, accuracy, and quick reflexes over complex mechanics, with three lives per round. It stands out as one of the earliest light gun titles on Famicom/NES, pioneering the genre with saloon showdown duels that influenced future shooters. The game ends on losing all lives or clearing the mode, with a sad tune signaling defeat.
