About the Game

Zakuro no Aji (A Taste of Pomegranate) is a sound novel/visual novel horror game for the SNES. Players control Domon, an aspiring sci-fi writer visiting an editorial office in a five-story building on a cold winter evening. A series of earthquakes causes the building to collapse and trap everyone inside. As Domon explores, especially the basement, branching paths based on early choices lead to encounters with zombies, demons, or other horrors. The game features multiple scenario branches and endings, emphasizing atmosphere, sound design, and decision-making in a trapped, claustrophobic setting.
