Actraiser 2

Actraiser 2 is a side-scrolling platform action game where the player controls the Master, a powerful being with functional wings, as he battles the resurrected Tanzra and his demon generals. Gameplay involves side-scrolling through environments like villages, underwater palaces, prisons, and flaming areas while using jumps, flights, floating, sword swings, and magic to defeat enemies and bosses. The story follows the Master opposing Tanzra, a former servant who led a rebellion and was banished, now revived by his minions' hatred and sins; the seven generals represent the seven deadly sins, each causing specific chaos in the seven villages to prevent peace from the previous victory. Characters include the Master (player character), Tanzra (the Evil Lord), and the seven sin demons as bosses. It stands out for its stunning SNES visuals, pure action platforming without city-building, fast-paced sword combat with variable magic range, and atmospheric exploration of diverse locales, making it one of the hardest and most visually impressive platformers on the system.
