About the Game
Aerostar is a vertical scrolling shooter for Game Boy. Players control the pilot Aerostar, a lone fighter sent to defend Earth after its destruction by humanity and mutant resistance. Gameplay is a vertical shooter with road-based flying where the plane jumps between roads (one must be shot, the other evaded) with a limited air meter that drains while flying and replenishes while grounded. Enemies appear on both roads; power-ups include missiles and lasers; large bosses appear per level. There are three difficulty levels and levels feature cities, jungles, space, and spikes. It stands out for its unique road-jumping mechanic and innovative use of Game Boy hardware.
