About the Game

Parodius (Parodius Da!) is a horizontal-scrolling shoot 'em up on the Game Boy. The player controls Parodius, a cute octopus from the Parodius series, alongside friends like the Octopus and others in a parody story where the Great Octopus threatens Earth and the heroes search for the truth. Gameplay involves piloting a spaceship to blast through eight stages filled with enemies, bosses, and power-ups in a fast-paced arcade shooter style similar to Gradius. Stages include Pirate Island, Las Vegas, Labyrinth, Japan, Moai Battleship, and Ice Cave, with a hidden stage in some. The game stands out for its humorous parody of serious shoot 'em ups, absurd and cute graphics, lighthearted tone, and Konami's signature over-the-top boss designs adapted to the handheld format.
