About the Game
R-Type is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up that brings the arcade classic to Game Boy with adapted graphics and gameplay. Players pilot the R-9 spacecraft through alien-infested levels, using the iconic Force pod that attaches to the ship for offensive and defensive capabilities. The Game Boy version condenses the original's challenging stages while maintaining the core weapon system and boss battles. Despite hardware limitations, it captures the tense atmosphere and strategic positioning that defined the series.
