Super Drakkhen

Super Drakkhen (known as Dragon View in other regions) is a side-scrolling action RPG for the SNES. Gameplay combines beat-'em-up combat with pseudo-3D overworld exploration and real-time combat elements. Players control a customizable hero on a side-scrolling plane while navigating the island's regions, fighting hordes of monsters, and solving puzzles. The story centers on Alex, a young warrior from Rysis, who must rescue his girlfriend Katarina from the evil wizard Argos and his mastermind Giza. Other key characters include Katarina (Alex's girlfriend), the wise master Qunos, the henchman Argos, and the villain Giza who plans to submerge the island using the stolen Prime Orb. What makes it stand out is its innovative hybrid perspective: first-person pseudo-3D overworld movement with third-person beat-'em-up action, set against a richly detailed medieval fantasy world filled with unique enemies and environmental hazards.
