Galaga & Galaxian

Galaga & Galaxian is a 1995 Game Boy compilation of two classic Namco arcade shooters. In Galaga, the player controls the Fighter starship and must destroy successive waves of Galaga bug-like aliens while avoiding their attacks; the ship can capture one enemy to create a double-shooting Fighter for higher firepower and score multipliers. In Galaxian, the player pilots the Galaxip to eliminate alien ships that descend from space and attack in formations, with a flagship boss requiring specific targeting. Both modes feature high-score chases with limited lives and bonuses for destroying all enemies in a wave. The Game Boy version ports the original fixed-shooter mechanics with simplified controls suitable for handheld play. What makes it stand out is the faithful arcade reproduction in a portable package, allowing fans to relive 1980s classics on the go.
