Mazin Wars

Mazin Wars (known as Mazin Saga: Mutant Fighter in Japan) is a hybrid beat 'em up / fighting game on the Sega Mega Drive. The player controls Koji Kabuto in the Mazinger Z armor through six stages set in different global locations. The first three stages are side-scrolling beat 'em up gameplay where players fight waves of enemies using physical attacks, jumping attacks, and button-combination special moves. The fourth stage shifts to one-on-one mech battles as the giant Mazinger Z robot against stage bosses. Players collect health, money, and 1UP items along the way. The game stands out for blending street-level brawling with giant robot combat inspired by the Mazin Saga manga by Go Nagai, with strong boss fights and variety across locations.
