About the Game

Total Carnage is a top-down twin-stick shooter where you control Captain Carnage (Player 1) and Major Mayhem (Player 2) of the Doomsday Squad. Gameplay involves running, dodging enemies, and shooting across three scrolling levels while rescuing POWs and civilians. Story follows the 1999 invasion of Kookistan by dictator General Akhboob, who has captured reporters and forces the squad to storm his base. Characters include the Rambo-like Captain Carnage and Major Mayhem; General Akhboob (voiced by Ed Boon) is the main antagonist. It stands out with arcade-style dual controls adapted to Game Boy, password warping, and bombs that explode after a delay.
