New Genesis

新创世纪 (Crusader of Centy) is an action-adventure RPG for the Sega Mega Drive featuring a top-down perspective. Players control 14-year-old Corona who inherits his father's legendary sword and gains the ability to communicate with animals that join his party and grant unique powers in combat and puzzles. The story follows Corona's journey through a colorful overworld, solving dungeons, battling monsters, and exploring a world threatened by darkness. Notable characters include his mother, childhood friend Alice, and frenemy Billy. What makes it stand out is its Zelda-like depth with animal companions that add unique mechanics, thoughtful themes of communication and nature, and excellent exploration and combat balance.
